With bowel movements returning to a manageable regularity it was time to pull the pin on our beach bum life in Koh Lanta. Time to hit the road again and see a bit of Malaysia.
An easy evolution to Kuala Lumpur meeting up with Wah Harun, who, despite openly being a huge fan of the Spice Girls has managed to build the most excellent ‘Pods Backpackers’. This place takes me back nearly 30 years, a proper backpackers all centred around a large common area where people meet and actually talk to each other, except I seemed to have cleared the area, perhaps I wasn’t interesting enough…….. Such a good vibe that even the once to ‘Posh to Poo’ in public wife was quite happy with a shared bathroom…
Travel is really easy in and around KL, public transport is fluid meaning that we didn’t have to deal with taxi drivers.
Not a massive amount to do tourist wise, decent shopping malls (I hate shopping but the air con is a welcome escape from the heat).
Well worth a visit are the Batu Caves, although the real highlight there was not the caves but watching Chinese tourists bomb bursting from swarms of monkeys chasing them intent on stealing their food and sunglasses.
Pin now pulled on KL and heading to Malacca. In the meantime some photos from the wife, who very nearly was not here after being charged by a ‘cute fighting bull” she intended to pat on the head…….
I love my North Face 90 litre back pack for travelling. Its tough and easily spotted on airport carousels.https://amzn.to/2XQIIfr
