Liverpool is famous for The Beatles as they were born here. But really there is so much more to this wonderful city. Its an UNESCO World Heritage City
‘Scousers’ are the friendliest, quirkiest, funniest, most welcoming people. They have their own unique style, think curlers in your hair walking around the city centre during the day in preparation for evening fun, fake tan in abundance and an accent known world wide. It is tricky to understand them at first and have their own unique sayings such as ‘boss’ which you hear everywhere…meaning they really like it!
Food is a big thing here from fine dining, to international cuisines, to burgers and street food..check out http://www.festivalfoodanddrink.co.uk right opposite the Cavern Club.
Music is everywhere and has had more number one hit records come out of here than any other city in the UK. Street musicians play randomly on street corners. The Beatles attractions are everywhere, the Magical Mystery Tour is well worth doing http://www.cavernclub.com to buy your tickets. The nightlife is some of the best in the country, although we didn’t actually experience it past midnight!
Football, two famous clubs, Liverpool and Everton who both play in the Premier League whose stadiums are only separated by Stanley Park, so close together. Huge rivalry but on Derby Day all mingle together (mostly) especially after the match in Mathew Street.
Finally, the shopping, architecture, museums, galleries to the 2 Cathedrals which are linked by the same street are all very impressive. The Albert Dock area hosts amazing events and is a beautiful area to spend a day eating and shopping.
